The Report of the 19th Meeting of

ISA Technical Committee on Standardization (TCS19)

 

The 19th Meeting of ISA Technical Committee on Standardization (TCS19) was held in the form of webinar on May 19^th, 2021.

Dr. Yoshi Ohno, the new Chair of ISA TCS, NIST Fellow, and the Past President of CIE, moderated this meeting.

The member of ISA Council of Management (COM), Prof. Warren Julian, the member of ISA Board of Advisors (BOA), Mr. Siegfried Luger, and more than 40 experts from China, India, Australia, Brazil, Korea and other countries/regions attended the meeting.

The meeting was divided into the following three parts:

1.      Working Progress Report by the ISA TCS Secretariat

On behalf of the TCS Secretariat, Dr. Crane YANG, Secretary of ISA TCS and Executive Secretary of ISA, delivered the working progress report in the past six months, as well as the liaison status with other international standardization bodies.

2. Working Progress Reports by the ISA TCS WGs

2.1 WG9: “Research in LED Lighting for Poultry Farm Application”, introduced by Prof. Jinming PAN from Zhejiang University.

2.2 WG10: “Technical Report of Control Protocols for LED Smart Home Lighting”, introduced by Dr. Feng Huang from Signify.

2.3 WG14: “Technical Report of Lighting System Architecture and Standard Overview”, introduced by Dr. Feng Huang from Signify.

2.4 WG15: “LED Lighting System for Classrooms - Product Requirements and Testing Methods”, introduced by Ms. Lorna WEN from CNIS.

2.5 WG17: “Requirements for On-site Assembly and Commissioning of Multifunctional Street Lamp’s Functional Modules”, introduced by Mr. Haibo QIN from Unilumin.

2.6 WG18: “Technical Specifications for Solar Street Light with Lithium Battery”, introduced by Mr. Weidong CHEN from Longvolt Energy.

2.7 WG19: “Technical Requirement for LED Fish Gathering Lamp of Fishing Vessels”, introduced by Dr. Benliang LI from Dongguan Quality Testing.

2.8 WG20: “Technical Report on Sun-like LED Terms Definition and Related Issues”, introduced by Dr. Hua YANG from Institute of Semiconductors, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

2.9 WG21: “Technical Report on LED mosquito light trap and Related Issues” introduced by Ms. Xu XU from Ningbo Dayang Technology.

2.10 WG21: “Technical specification on indoor ultraviolet LED mosquito light trap” introduced by Mr. Xiao GUO from Lattice Power.

Aforementioned working progress reports of the Working Groups had been reviewed and discussed.

3.      New proposals

There were 2 new proposals raised in this TCS meeting:

“Technical requirements on UVA LED module for photocatalytic technology” from Guangdong Yue Puritech Technology and “Double capped integrated LED lamps - Performance requirements” from Guangdong Dongguan Quality Supervision Testing Center.

Dr. Yoshi Ohno, the Chair of ISA TCS reviewed these 2 new proposals, believed that these 2 proposals met the principles and conditions of TCS project approval and approved these 2 new proposals with new WGs established. The working progress reports were required at next TCS meeting.

In the action review, Dr. Yoshi Ohno stated that he hoped more international experts could participate in the newly established working groups in order to fully hear the views from all parties. He also made specific requirements for the specification of material from the ISA TCS Working Groups.

The Chair announced that the next meeting (TCS 20) would be held in November 2021. The final decision of format and venue of TCS 20 would be decided after the discussion between the TCS Secretariat and the Chair, depending on the situation of epidemic. The meeting notice would be sent to all TCS members in writing.

The TCS19 meeting minutes will be drafted by the Secretariat of TCS including the contents and the related resolutions of this meeting. The minutes would be sent to the Chair of TCS for his approval and then sent to all TCS members for comments.

Finally, on behalf of the ISA Executive Member Meeting, the Co-Secretary-General of ISA Mr. Yue expressed the appreciation to Dr. Yoshi Ohno for his acceptance of serving as the Chair of the ISA TCS (2021-2023) and congratulate him to successfully chair this TCS19.

The meeting was adjourned at 22:10 (Beijing time).
