Appendix 1:

Background

1.Mosquitoes are one of the four calamities, it can spread epidemic encephalitis, malaria, filariasis, dengue fever and other infectious diseases. The number of people threatened by mosquito-borne diseases dengue fever and dengue hemorrhagic fever reaches 2.5 billion. So anti-mosquito has become extremely important.

2.Based on the phototaxis and light trapping technique of mosquitoes, the LED technology has been widely used in mosquito control and researched in different institutions and enterprises.

3. Because the LED has the characteristics of energy saving and environmental protection, small size, easy industrial design, low-voltage drive, easy to integrate solar panels, rich wavelength/customized on demand, easy to improve the benefit-harm ratio, strong environmental applicability and long life. In terms of outdoor mosquito control applications, replacing CCFL is the direction of market development.

4. The content of the existing mosquito trap lamp standard is only for traditional light sources, not applicable to electrical appliances using LED as a light source for attracting insects, and does not involve optical parameters (wavelength, radiation illuminance), effect evaluation, benefit-harm ratio and other parameters. Especially for the evaluation of the effect of outdoor mosquito control, it is in a completely blank field.

Appendix 2:

The necessity to develop the standard

1. Outdoor LED mosquito trap standards currently belong to the blank area of standards. On the one hand, the formulation of the standard will clarify the customer evaluation system for the effect of outdoor mosquito traps, effectively guarantee the quality of outdoor mosquito trap products, and help regulate the development of the industry and adjust the industry. Order and promote the healthy and high-quality development of the industry.

2. The formulation of standards will also help consumers increase their professional knowledge in the process of purchasing commercial and domestic outdoor mosquito traps, improve their ability to distinguish products from good and bad, and build user confidence.

Appendix 3:

Overview of the content

The terms and related issues of outdoor UV LED mosquito trap performance requirements include:

1. UV LED mosquito trap definition

According to the characteristics of mosquitoes' phototaxis to a specific ultraviolet spectrum, it is a special device that uses ultraviolet LED light source to trap and can effectively kill insects by electric shock, wind suction, sticking and other methods.

2. Ultraviolet radiation flux maintenance rate

The life of the mosquito trap lamp is not less than 25,000 hours. The UV radiation flux maintenance rate of the mosquito trap lamp should not be lower than 96% of its initial value when the ignition point is 3000 hours; it should not be lower than 92% of the initial value when the ignition point is 6000 hours. The measurement method of radiant flux maintenance rate needs further discussion.

3. For the effect evaluation of LED mosquito traps

Look up literature and other existing insect control trapping standards, fit according to the growth habits of mosquitoes, and sort out environmental conditions suitable for outdoor LED UV trapping, such as time period, temperature, humidity, etc. Secondly, according to the mosquito breeding grounds of the test points, it is divided into three areas: high, medium and low. The trapping effect evaluation method is the density method, which is evaluated by the number of mosquitoes caught by each lamp per night; or collects the traps of the mosquito trap lamps at each trap point, the insects are classified and identified, and the ratio of mosquitoes to other insects is calculated. When the ratio is greater than S, it indicates that the mosquito trap can effectively trap the target mosquito. In summary, it is hoped that through discussion and discussion, combined with existing international and domestic standards, comprehensive evaluation methods and standards in various companies and literature, a reasonable and standard evaluation index for the trapping effect of outdoor mosquito traps will be established.
