The 9th Meeting of BRICS Solid State Lighting Collaboration Working Group (BRICS SSL WG) was held from July 12^th to 14^th 2022. The meeting was organized by the Secretariat of BRICS SSL WG (Secretariat of ISA) and convened in the form of online (Webinar on Zoom) due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

More than 20 delegates from Ministry of Science and Technology, Research Institutes and SSL industries of BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) participated in the meeting.

Other 20 delegates from R&D institutes, universities and SSL industries of about 10 countries, i.e. Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, USA, Austria, Zambia also participated in the meeting.

The representatives from following organizations participated in this meeting. i.e. Signify, Osram, Tuya Technology, Fonda Technology, Ltd. China, LongT Lighting Group Inc. China, Unilumin, leedarson, Suzhou Institute of Nano-Tech and Nano-Bionics (SINANO), CAS, BRICS Standardization Research Center, China SSL Alliance, Tongji University and Fudan University etc. Nearly 20 people attended the meeting.

More than 100 times people attended the three-days meeting.

Ms. Xuemei YANG, Director of International Cooperation Division, International Cooperation Department, Ministry of Science and Technology of China (MOST) delivered welcome remarks at opening session of the meeting.

Dr. Jianlin CAO, The President of ISA delivered his welcome remarks at opening session of the meeting.

The meeting lasted for 3 days.

The first session on July 12^th focused on light and illumination in the post-pandemic era, significance of LED in evolving indoor spaces, the application status, market trends and development prospects of SSL in BRICS countries.

The second session on July 13^th focused on “Beyond lighting” such as smart Lighting (Smart City), smart pole, health lighting and UV-LED, etc.

The third session on July 14th was “BRICS Expert Meeting of Standardization on Solid-State Lighting”

The first session and second session were moderated by Madam Ling WU, the representative of China SSL industry (China is the host country for BRICS Summit in the year 2022) and the President of China Solid State Lighting Alliance (CSA).

The third session on July 14^th was jointly moderated by the head of the Secretariat of BRICS SSL WG and the director of BRICS Standardization Research Center (Zhejiang).
