Cooperation with Illumination Engineer Society of South Africa (IESSA), supported by National Energy Development Institute (SANEDI), Department of Science and Technology (DST), South Africa, and sponsored by PC Cooler (China), ISA held 2017 ISA-South Africa International SSL Forum on May 16^th at River Club, Cape Town during the 2017 IESSA Congress (Annual General Meeting). About 60 representatives from ISA members, IESSA members, SANEDI and DST, etc. attended the forum.

The Co-secretary General of ISA, representatives of SANEDI and DST, delivered their welcome remarks respectively.

Dr. Norman Bardsley, Chief Analyst of ISA Research, President of Bardsley Consulting gave a keynote speech on “The SSL Global Market and Trends”.

Prof. Wilhelm Leuschner, Light & Vision Laboratory University of Pretoria, South Africa gave a report on “Research and development of technological solutions for LED Lighting”.

Dr. Jun Ruan, Executive Deputy Secretary-General, China SSL Alliance (CSA), gave a presentation on “The Overview of strategy, Policy and Development of SSL Industry in China”.

Mr. Jingsong Jiang from Light Talk, China, gave a presentation on “R&D, Practice and successful story of Poultry Intelligent Special LED Lighting”.

Randall Wahl from Regent Lighting, South Africa, gave a presentation on “LED Lighting in South Africa”.

After the forum, the delegation of ISA secretariat had a conversation with IESSA discussing the potential cooperation, such as standard interchange, introducing the technology partner and poultry intelligent special LED lighting etc.
