ISA General Assembly 2019 was held on Nov. 25^th at Shenzhen Exhibition Center, Shenzhen, China, with more than 70 participants.

The meeting was moderated by Mr. Carlos Lee, member of ISA Council of Management, Director General of European Photonics Industry Consortium (EPIC).

Mr. Xiaoming Jin, the Co-Secretary of ISA on behalf of Dr. Jianlin Cao, the President of ISA, the former vice minister of Ministry of Science and Technology of China, delivered the welcome remarks.

First of all, he welcomed the attendees. He gave a brief introduction of the ISA work of 2019 including Cooperation with BRICS countries, Malaysia, Myanmar, Chile and other countries; The meeting of ISA Technical Committee on Standardization; the 2019 Global SSL Industry Report; Technical support and provide services to “The Belt and Road Green Ligting Initiative”; The meeting of ISA-ECC Smart Street Lighting System Specialized Committee. He expressed his appreciation for the support and active participation of all members in ISA work. He hoped that the members could make full use of their daily communication channels to provide more requests, suggestions and guidance to the Secretariat for better services and to help ISA become better.

1. Report of the 11^th ISA Executive Member Meeting

Prof. Istvan Barsony member of ISA board of Advisers, the Former director of Inst. Techn. Phys. & Mat. Science – MFA, entrusted by ISA Council of Management, gave a brief report on the 11^th ISA Executive Member Meeting which was held on Nov. 24^th attended by the members of ISA Council of Management and ISA Board of Advisers.

2. Report of ISA Working Meeting and Events 2019

The Co-secretary General of ISA, presented ISA 2019 Annual Report, including:

3. Report of the ISA Technical Committee on Standardization (TCS)

Mr. Andreas Scholtz, the Chair of ISA TCS introduced the working report of ISA TCS including 2 TCS meetings, 4 intercessional meetings, seeking comments and voting on standards drafts.

4. The ISA Global SSL Industry Report 2019

Dr. Norman Bardsley, the Chief Analyst of ISA, introduced the ISA Global SSL Special Report 2019 (Lighting for Health People and a Health Planet) which would be circulated to the ISA members.

5. The Way Forward

1) Prof. Qun Yan, Distinguished Expert of China, the Fellow of the Society for Information Display (SID), the Chair of SID Beijing Chapter, presented “MicroLED Driving the Third Wave of Technology Revolution of Information Display”.

2) Prof. Junxi Wang, the Director of R&D Center for Solid-State of Lighting Institute of Semiconductors, Chinese Academy of Sciences, presented “The Technology and Application of UVC LED”.

6. ISA Award Ceremony of AOA

Prof. Warren Julian on behalf of the Jury panel introduced the Global SSL Award of Outstanding Achievement and the award ceremony of AOA was held on the afternoon of Nov. 25^th during the opening session of the 16^th China International Forum on Solid State Lighting (SSLCHINA 2019)

7. ISA Award Ceremony of Top100

Mr. Xiaoming Jin, the Co-Secretary of ISA Secretariat announced the winners of the award of Global SSL showcase Top100 2019.

8. Membership Certificate Ceremony for New ISA Members

Mr. Xiaoming Jin, the Co-Secretary of ISA Secretariat announced the new members of ISA 2019. There were 3 new members joined ISA this year.

The 3 new members were:

1) Beijing Landsky Environmental Technology Co., Ltd.

2) Changzhou Yousheng Electronics Co., Ltd.

3) Xiamen Guangpu Electronics Co., Ltd.

Member of ISA Council of Management, Warren Julian, Emeritus Professor of University of Sydney, Mr. Carlos Lee, Director General of European Photonics Industry Consortium (EPIC), Mr. Evgeny Dolin, the CEO of LEDs and LED based systems Manufacturer’s Nonprofit Partnership (NPRPSS) of Russia and members of Professor Robert Karlicek, Electrical, Computer and Systems Engineering, RPI, ISA Board of Advisers, Dr. Yoshi Ohno, former President of CIE, Professor Istvan Barsony, the former director of Inst. Techn. Phys. & Mat. Science – MFA, Professor Frederic Quan, Dr. Norman Bardsley, ISA Chief Analyst and Mr. Andreas Scholtz, the Chair of ISA TCS handed over the award medals and certificates to the representatives of the Top100 winners and the 3 new members.
