The Report of the 21th Meeting of 

ISA Technical Committee on Standardization (TCS 21)

 

The 21th Meeting of ISA Technical Committee on Standardization (TCS21) was held in the form of webinar on May 25th, 2022.

Dr. Yoshi Ohno, the Chair of ISA TCS, NIST Fellow, the Past President of CIE, moderated this meeting.

More than 40 experts from China, US, Germany, Brazil, Russia, Japan, Malaysia and other countries attended the meeting, including Mr. Alexander Karev, the member of ISA Council of Management (COM), Prof. Isac Roizenblatt, the member of ISA Board of Advisors (BOA), Mr. Andreas Scholtz, the Past Chair of ISA TCS, the Chair of IEC TC34, etc.

The meeting was divided into the following three parts:

1.Working Progress Report by the ISA TCS Secretariat

On behalf of the TCS Secretariat, Dr. Crane YANG, Secretary of ISA TCS and Executive Secretary of ISA, delivered the working progress report in the past half year.

2. Working Progress Reports by the ISA TCS WGs

2.1 WG9: “Research in LED Lighting for Poultry Farm Application”, introduced by Prof. Jinming PAN from Zhejiang University.

2.2 WG10: “Technical Report of Control Protocols for LED Smart Home Lighting”, introduced by Dr. Feng Huang from Signify.

2.3 WG14: “Technical Report of Lighting System Architecture and Standard Overview”, introduced by Dr. Feng Huang from Signify.

2.4 WG15: “LED Lighting System for Classrooms - Product Requirements and Testing Methods”, introduced by Ms. Lorna WEN from CNIS.

2.5 WG18: “Technical Specifications for Solar Street Light with Lithium Battery”, introduced by Mr. Weidong CHEN from Longvolt Energy.

2.6 WG19: “Technical Requirement for LED Fish Gathering Lamp of Fishing Vessels”, introduced by Dr. Benliang LI from Dongguan Quality Testing.

2.7 WG21: “Technical Report on LED mosquito light trap and Related Issues” introduced by Ms. Xu XU from Ningbo Dayang Technology.

2.8 WG21: “Technical specification on indoor ultraviolet LED mosquito light trap” introduced by Ms. Qiong Wang from Lattice Power.

2.9 WG22: “Technical requirements on UVA LED module for photocatalytic technology” introduced by Mr. Rongbin REN from Guangdong Yue Puritech Technology.

2.10 WG23: “Double capped integrated LED lamps - Performance requirements” introduced by Dr. Benliang LI from Guangdong Dongguan Quality Supervision Testing Ce

2.11 WG24: “Interleave BLE protocol in smart indoor lighting” introduced by Prof. Yi JIANG from Fudan University.

2.12 WG25: “Life Cycle Cost Analysis for LED Lighting Products” introduced by Dr. Jiajie FAN from Fudan University.

3. New proposals

There was one new proposal raised in this TCS meeting: “Technical requirements for light health and light safety application of red light” from China National Institute of Standardization (CNIS).

Dr. Yoshi Ohno, the Chair of ISA TCS reviewed the new proposal and raised relevant questions. The meeting approved the report of this new proposal and decided to establish a new WG hence.  

Dr. Yoshi Ohno,  after his summary announced that the next meeting (TCS 22) would be held in November 2022. The final decision on holding TCS 22 would be decided after the discussion between the TCS Secretariat and the Chair, depending on the situation of epidemic. The meeting announcement would be sent to all TCS members in writing.

The meeting minutes will be circulated to TCS members for their review before getting the approval by the Chair of TCS. The presentations in the meeting will also be distributed by the TCS Secretariat after the meeting per request of the TCS members and participants.

The meeting was adjourned at 22:10 (Beijing time).
