The meeting was co-chaired by Professor Yan Qun, Chairman of ISA Micro-LED Committee, and Secretary General of International Society for Information Display (SID), and Dr. Jose Pozo, Chief Technology Officer of EPIC.

Mr. Carlos Lee, President of EPIC, and Professor Yan Qun, Chairman of ISA Micro-LED Committee, Secretary General of SID, presented the welcome address.

Mr. Lee believed that it was important to be able to help European and Chinese companies cooperate. Although we were unable to have business trips or meet each other during the epidemic period, we could still communicate face to face through online conference, learn each other’s advanced technologies and seek cooperation opportunities. He pointed that the most important thing for a company was to manufacture products and develop technologies. And there would be many opportunities for European and Chinese companies to work together in the future.

Each speaker took some questions through written and oral ways after his presentation. More detailed questions would be communicated via email, WeChat and other ways after the meeting.

After the presentations, EPIC provided a special live interactive chat platform, where each participant could freely log in and find out who they were interested in for communication. One of the purposes of this live platform was to dig up more interested questions which raised at the meeting, and the other was to discuss the cooperation opportunities in the future. About two-thirds of participants logged in and carried out their communication.

At the closing session, Professor Yan concluded with the following remarks:

“Each speaker shared very important and usable content. This meeting covered the Mini/Micro LED manufacturing, chips and the challenges in applications. We had an exciting and detailed discussions on Mini/Micro LED in the meeting and gained a lot. I hoped that through this meeting we could better strengthen the cooperation and exchange needed in the field of Mini/Micro LED.”

Dr. Jose Pozo expressed the following views. He hoped that through the communication and discussion in this meeting, we could better carry out the business in the field of Micro/ MINI LED in the future, enhance communication and find more partners. He was looking forward to the next meeting. He recommended all the participants click the following link https://www.wonder.me/ and join the chat platform, so as to better following up what we discussed during the meeting and   expand business in the future.

The meeting ended at 19:40 Beijing time.

The “ISA - EPIC/PIDA Online Technology Meeting on Mini/Micro LED” had the following features:

Firstly, the orientation of the meeting design was focused on the practical issues that the companies (manufacturing and application enterprises) were facing in Mini/Micro-LED currently. Speakers introduced the characteristics of their companies’ technical solutions, specific technological issues they run up during their daily manufacture. More than 200 European companies had registered in EPIC Secretariat to attend the meeting, which showed their great interests on the topics.  Lumileds, based in Malaysia, had 90 people attending the meeting.

Secondly, the meeting had intensive discussions, and the questions raised were very professional and pertinent. Some participants reached the intention of cooperation during the meeting or volunteered to provide solutions.

Thirdly, the meeting attached great importance to follow-up discussions and established a special chatting platform, which provided opportunities for immediately following up and further communication and cooperation.
