“Recent Development in Micro-LED Technology”

The maturity and development of LED technology has promoted the rapid progress of LED epitaxial, chip process and packaging technology, and thus gave rise the progress of Micro-LED technology. Its application scenarios and market space continue to expand, showing its attractive prospects in many fields. Micro-LED is leading the future of display industry, from monitoring, commanding, scheduling, conference and other professional applications to a broader consumer electronics market, such as watches, computers, TV, virtual reality and other fields. The core competitive advantage will determine whether the enterprise can take a place in the Micro-LED industry in the future. The joint efforts of academia and industry in all aspects of Micro-LED will help the breakthrough of the whole industrial chain, mass production and large-scale application as soon as possible.
To that end, the ISA Micro-LED Committee was cooperating with Society for Information Display (SID) to held a workshop -- “Recent Development in Micro-LED Technology” on April 26, 2022 during the International Display Technology Congress (ICDT). The meeting aims to exchange the latest achievements of relevant countries in the field of Micro-LED R&D, technological innovation and application in the past year, learn from each other, benchmark themselves, seek partners and promote complementary advantages.
The workshop was divided into two sessions. Industry elites from China, the United States, Switzerland, Canada, the United Kingdom and other countries exchanged views on the latest progress of Micro-LED technology. Contents include Massive Parallel Transfer Technology for the Assembly of Micro-LED Based Displays, End-to-End Process Control, cost effective manufacturing, design of naked eye light field display, CMOS digital light projection systems, new light engine for AR glasses and AR-HUD, etc.
