Terms of Reference & Rules of Procedure

The Terms of Reference (TOR) and Rules of Procedure (ROP) for International SSL Alliance (ISA) “Global SSL Award of Innovations Top 100” (Innovations TOP100) are listed as below.

Mission

To promote and stimulate the sustainable development of the global solid state lighting (SSL) industry, demonstrate the application and the innovation of the technology of SSL in the field of “beyond lighting”, and push forward the global SSL into a new stage of development.

Significance

After more than a decade of development, SSL’s light quality, light efficiency, reliability, smart control and many other characteristics have gradually achieved in their maturity. The products, services and system solutions of SSL have been widely used in most parts of the world.

With the development of science and technology, the non-visual function of SSL has been rapidly explored. And various innovations and applications of “beyond lighting” have been entering every aspect of the society and life. SSL uses in agriculture, health, communications, high-definition display, polymer curing, vector control and high value-added application integration are showing its great application potential and depth of research and development. Based on the SSL technology, the integrated innovation and cross-border innovation have been changing with each passing day, and exhibiting their full vitality.

In the view of aforementioned fact that the ISA 12th Executive Member Meeting decided that the ISA “Global SSL Showcase Top 100” had completed its historic mission and would not be organized anymore. The “Global SSL Innovations Top 100” is herein established to encourage the innovations of technologies, products and integration in the field of “beyond lighting” to promote the global SSL into a new stage of development.
