To promote SSL development, the standardization of Brazil SSL industry, achieving the energy saving and green economy progress with widely SSL application and innovation in Brazil, during the Expolux 2016, ISA, Abilux (Brazilian Association of Lighting Industry), Abilumi (Brazilian Association of the Lighting Products Importers)  jointly organized the event of “2016 ISA-Brazil International SSL Forum” (June 28th, 2016, Expo Center Norte, Sao Paulo, Brazil), which was also supported by the Confucius Institute of Unicamp (State University of Campinas) and the Reed Exhibitions Alcantara Machado.

 

This international SSL forum focused on the areas of SSL industry research/development, policy/strategy introduction, technology innovation, testing and standardization, business model exploration, talent cultivation etc. aiming to devote itself to promote the SSL international cooperation in Brazil.

 

This Forum was intend to provide a platform for communication, demonstration, introduction, learn from each other and explore the opportunity to cooperation in SSL industry, business and standardization. About 100 people attended this Forum.

 

Mr. Thebano Santos, General Coordinator, the CTI of Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Brazil made a presentation on “The Strategy, Policy and Road Map to support the SSL Development and Application in Brazil”.

 

Dr. Jun Ruan, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of China SSL Alliance (CSA) made a presentation on “The Overview of strategy, Policy and Development of Solid State Lighting Industry in China”. 

 

 

Mr. Isac Roizenblatt, Technical Director of Abilux, made a presentation on “LED Lighting in Brazil”.

 

Mr. Michael Li, General Manager of Forest Lighting, China made a presentation on “From Manufacturing to Branding - the way of China Lighting Industry”.

 

 

Prof. Leandro Tiago Manera, Professor of State University of Campinas, Unicamp, Brazil made a presentation on “Research and development of technological solutions for smart cities: Street light smart management system case study”.

 

Mr. Georges Blum, President of Abilumi, Standards developing Authority, Brazil made a presentation on “The SSL Standards and Certification in Brazil”.

 

 

Dr. Norman Bardsley, Chief Analyst of ISA Research, President of Bardsley Consulting made a presentation on “The SSL Global Market and Trends”.

 

Ms. Echo Xu, Overseas Manager of Shandong Prosperous Star Optoelectronics Co.,Ltd. made a “Successful Practice of LED Lighting with New Cooperation models”.

 

 

Prof. Teresa Dib Zambon Atvars, Professor, Vice Director for University Development, State University of Campinas, Unicamp, Brazil made a presentation on “OLED and PLED Research Developments at the National Institute of Organic Electronics”.

 

 

Mr. Alexandre Soong, Marketing Director of NVC Lighting made a presentation on “Lighting: the next frontier”.

 

Ms. Flavia Oliveira Silva, President of O2M Consultoria made a presentation on “PPP in Brazilian Solid State Lighting Project”.

 

 

 

Prior to this Forum a reception was held on the evening of June 27th by ISA, Abilux, Abilumi and about 50 people from SSL industry, designing, government, standardization, business presented this reception.   

 

The ISA Secretariat visited CTI (Brazilian Information Technology Center) and Unicamp after the Forum. The Secretariat discussed with the CTI and Unicamp for future cooperation on relevant fields of SSL development.
