The IEEE International Conference on Prognostics and Health Management (ICPHM2024) was held in Spokane, Washington, USA, from June 17-19, 2024, with the theme " Enhancing Safety, Efficiency, Availability, and Effectiveness of Systems through PHM Technology and Application." During the conference, the IEEE Smart Lighting Committee organized "Illuminating the Future: Smart Lighting and Prognostics Health Management (PHM)", moderated by Prof. Georges Zissis, University of Toulouse III, France. Prof. Nadarajah Narendran from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, USA, Dr. Barry Preston, lighting industry expert, Prof. Janet (Jing) Lin from Meradalen University, Sweden, and Dr. Jiajie Fan, Youth Professor and PhD Supervisor from Fudan University were invited to make special reports respectively.

Dr. Jiajie Fan, Youth Professor from Fudan University recommended by International Solid State Lighting Alliance (ISA) to deliver a report entitled "Solid State Lighting Reliability Modeling based on full lifecycle digital twins", this report starts from the definition of semiconductor lighting full life cycle digital twin (DT). It focuses on sharing failure mechanism analysis, accelerated life test method and remaining effective life prediction model based on multi-scale/multi-physics simulation, covering the whole life cycle of Solid State lighting products design, manufacturing, use and recycling. The report received great attention from the participants, who all expressed their willingness to carry out international cooperation in technology research and development and standard development in the future.

The ICPHM is the world's premiere forum for PHM and the only PHM conference financially sponsored by the IEEE. Dr. Jiajie Fan is also an expert recommended by ISA to ISO TC/274, and currently leads the ISO/TC 274 project "Full Life Cycle Assessment of LED Lighting based on Carbon Footprint Analysis".
