ISA Global Annual LiFi Conference 2023

The ISA Global Annual LiFi Conference 2023was held from 16 Feb. to 17 Feb. 2023 on line (by Zoom), which was organized by International SSL Alliance (ISA) LiFi Committee.

Participants from research institutes, universities and companies of China, Britain, the United States, France, the Netherlands, Austria, Hungary, Brazil, Belarus, Russia, South Africa, India, Australia, Chile, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam and so on more than 20 countries around the world attended the two-days meeting. More than 300 times people attended the conference

The meeting was chaired by Distinguished Professor Harald Haas, Director of LiFi Research and Development Centre (LRDC), Department of Electronic & Electrical Engineering, University of Strathclyde, UK, Chairman of ISA LiFi Committee, Member of ISA Board of Advisors.

Dr. Cao Jianlin, President of ISA and former Vice Minister of Science and Technology of China joined the meeting and presented a welcome speech.

The meeting on 16 Feb. 2023 focused on the theme of "Research and innovation",8 well-known experts in the field of visible lighting communication technology around the world made the presentations.

The meeting on 17 Feb. 2023 focused on the theme of "Industry and application".8 experts shared the latest progress, application examples and lessons of LiFi technology in their respective fields. Jointly discussed the R&D innovation, application prospects and opportunities of global visible lighting communication.

At the closing session, Prof. Haas concluded with the following remarks.

He pointed out that through the reports of experts, we understood the various applications of LiFi technology in the industry, and its short, medium and long-term goals. There would certainly be challenges and opportunities along the way, and goals at each stage would need to be set within time limits.

Prof. Haas said he also learned a lot from the two days of meetings. The development of LiFi technology over the years had its different trajectory, but the market acceptance was higher, and the related products were more. For many LiFi companies, it would be difficult to enter the market, but there was a lot of evidence that the market had accepted LiFi technology and products, and there were end users who need LiFi technology and benefit from it.

Prof. Haas said that he looked forward to continuing to discuss more new developments in LiFi technology, products and applications at next year's conference.

Finally, he thanked all the speakers and all the participants.

The representative of ISA Secretariat expressed that the LiFi technology had overcome difficulties in many fields and made great progress after years of development. The application range of LiFi technology had also been further expanded, such as satellite, aviation, subway, underwater, 6G and so on.

He said that this conference would make research and development and the market more confident in the future of LiFi, so that everyone was full of expectations for LiFi research and development breakthroughs, applications and market popularization. He believed that the work done by the LiFi community was making history and making new contributions to the well-being of humanity. He said that with the support of colleagues in the global LiFi community and under the leadership of Prof. Haas, ISA would strive to make this conference a global brand event.

Prof. Harald Haas, the Chairman of the conference, officially announced the end of the two-day " ISA Global Annual LiFi Conference 2023" at 21:25 Beijing time.
